Tourism in Siem Reap puts at risk the Angkor Wat temples
The temples at Angkor Wat sit on a bed of sand kept firm by
the ground water which rises and falls with the seasons but these foundations
are now threatened by the extraction of fossil water to meet the needs of the
Siam Reap; its population has doubled in size, to around 200,000, in a decade.
