The original blog has now been improved and is now clear.
"Thomas Cook is committed to sustainable travel the world is rapidly changing and there are dozens of man-made and natural wonders which are critically endangered. From the impressive snow caps of Mount Kilimanjaro to the romantic city of Venice, these are places under threat from changes in the environment. So to tie in with the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting which is currently being held in Davos, we have produced this infographic which identifies 5 endangered holiday destinations which, without intervention, may disappear in the foreseeable future.

I have worked with quite some Fairtrade certified farmers organizations. The Fairtrade premium money (the extra money we pay as consumers) does not go directly to the farmers or farmer families, but to the farmers cooperative, association, confederation or whatsoever. While the public still believes that the Fairtrade money goes straight to the farmer. The way the Fairtrade premium is distributed among the members of that specific farmers organization differs within each organization. I have seen some good examples (Ecuador, Costa Rica) and some bad examples (Tanzania, South Africa). My experience is also that the Fairtrade auditors are in many cases lacking profound knowledge and experience, simply because they are only a few days at a certain location and that is too few to get to know the true situation, the power relations, the level of corruption etc.

The Company response
We are very conscious of the disruption that implementing a small surcharge causes to schools groups and regret having to pass even a small charge on to our groups.
Our prices for this winter season are calculated in August 2010. Since that time we have seen significant cost increases arising from aviation, transportation fuel and other costs. The change in currency costs over the year has also added to the cost increase.
The vast majority of fuel and currency costs are hedged but these changes still have a material effect. We have worked hard to absorb as much cost as possible, covering not only the 2% cost that we are obliged to do, but typically 17 of the additional 30 cost increase. (this 30 over and above the 2%)
We have notified ABTA of our intention to surcharge. This notification consists of them checking our calculations are correct and that our terms and conditions meet the requirements of the PTR regarding surcharging. ABTA have confirmed we have met these requirements and then publish this on their website.
